I think it’s time to clear up the confusion again, since this has been a problem in some of my recent classes. And, to be honest, this isn’t even a “Chinese who study English” problem – it’s just a pure “English” problem. Anyone who speaks English, native or not, tends to have trouble with these 3 sets of words, because they sound and are spelled almost the same, but both the pronunciation and spelling are just a tiny bit different, and in one case, the meaning is completely different. So let’s get started on the words of the day. I’ll tell you the most common meaning and grammar, and then give an Example.
是时候再帮你理一理几个容易混淆的英文单词了，我最近上课的时候也有遇到过这几个问题。而且，说实话，这甚至不是一个“学英语的中国人”会遇到的问题，这是一个纯粹的“英语”问题。任何说英语的人，不管是母语者还是非母语者，都会因为被这3组单词搞得晕头转向，因为它们的听着和看着几乎是一样的，但其实它们在发音和拼写上都有细微的差别，甚至在同一个句子中，它们意思也是完全不同的。那么让我们一起来看看今天的单词吧。我将告诉你这几个单词最常见的意思和语法，并且我会举例说明。

Breath- /brɛθ/ - n. 呼吸
the air (oxygen) inhaled and exhaled

Example
After chasing Malloy around all day, Woodie was out of breath.

Breathe- /brið/ – v. 呼吸
to inhale and exhale, to take in and push out air (oxygen) from the lungs.

Because Carol talks so much, her coworkers have to tell her to be quiet almost a dozen times a day.
